Good morning! It took a little extra time and two additional trips to the fabric shop but I am proud to say, Block Four is complete! I have forgotten how long it takes to cut out McKenna's trees! I thought I had all of them cut out but nope, ten more to go. When I'd finished, I had a lovely blister on my finger. Nice! I also reminded myself why I don't work on a quilt late at night, a complete inability to think clearly. It was about 11pm (which is very late for me) and I fused the background mountains to the lovely pink fabric I had selected for them. There was just one problem, I had left the paper on! I literally ruined an entire yard of fabric! Then, to make it worse, I was so mad at myself, I couldn't go to sleep. When I arrived at the fabric shop at 10am I looked a sight. Mad as ****, hair in a ponytail, no sleep, you get the picture. As usual, the ladies there just laughed when I told my tale of woe, then we had a cup of coffee and dug out a replacement fabric. They are so nice to me, I think they enjoy us novice quilters and our trial and error stories!
When I get back home this weekend, I have Blocks 5 & 6 set out and ready to go. They are not nearly as involved and should go much more smoothly. Well, I think that covers it for this post, so until next time, TTFN!
