A Little More Progress

Good evening all! Hopefully this finds everyone enjoying the same beautiful weather we have had here in Colorado. And can I just say, it's about time! We have had one unusual winter this year and I am so ready to see it turn to spring. I am not one who worries about snow and mud. Those are a given when you live out in the sticks like we do. This year has introduced us to wind! And I mean a lot of it! Frequently it sounds like the house is going to be picked up and put down somewhere else! Dorothy's adventure comes to mind:)
I have managed to stitch a bit this week. I know this is not what I really want to work on but it is small enough to help me feel like I'm at least getting a little bit accomplished. I decided I needed a quick fix for right now. I am also trying to finish a couple of donation quilts up for my church quilting group. Those are due at the end of the month, yes, I need to get moving on those....ugg! Work always gets in the way!
Speaking of work, I thought I would post a couple of photos showing where I have been the past several months. I am a native of Colorado but my travels have taken to places in Colorado that I just never imagined.

We are blessed to have beautiful mountains that everyone seems to be familiar with. I have been to places on the western slope, heading south, where the mountain tops have a very strange, blue-green "dirt" exposed. It is just beautiful! Almost like ground up turquoise. Then while driving, I came across a beautiful ruin in the middle of pretty much nowhere. Take a look and see what you think. The ruin dates back about 120 years ago. I know that is not old by east coast standards but here in Colorado, that's pretty old! LOL.

The last photo is of skulls of maybe elk or deer, not totally sure, but they were tucked into a giant rock as I came around a bend in the road. Not sure if its a stylized descanos or ??? But thought it was interesting non-the-less.
Well I think that's it for tonight. Until next weekend, TTFN!

  1. I love your new start! The pics of Colorado are so pretty too. I love Colorado -- been to lots of different areas there. The bottom corner is very interesting in terms of terrain and all.
