Poncho Complete!

Hey there! Well it certainly took longer than expected but the poncho is now complete:) Woo hoo! Now I can get busy with the next project although my two daughters have let me know how much they like the poncho and would love to have one...hint hint! Lucky me:)
I am so excited for Thanksgiving next week! I love Thanksgiving. I think its my favorite because it has nothing to do with gifts, just food and family. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life; my friends, family, home, clean water, just to name a few things. Sometimes I get caught up in what's not right or what isn't working the way I want it to. Lately I have tried to change my way of thinking when I start to get down. When those thoughts start to creep in, I start think of what is good and how blessed I really am. I have also decide to volunteer again. For many years I volunteered with Girl Scouts and loved working with the kids. I have decided I need to get back to doing that. I have noticed several volunteer options online with the pillowcase drive and the infant crocheted hats but I haven't seen anything for stitchers. If anyone out there knows of something for stitchers, please shoot me an email. If not, what if we stitchers came up with something? Just a thought.
I am posting a picture of my old great canine friend, Fraulein Maria. Frau, as we call her, is nearing 12 years old and lately she is having old dog days. I cannot imagine Frau not being around. She was a gift after my Great Grandmother had passed away. Oddly enough and unbeknown st at the time, Frau and Nonny share the same birthday, April 12th. My Great Grandmother and I were very close, so when she passed I was very lonely. Frau loves to hang out in my sewing room and certainly feels like a princess with her crocheted blankets:) Now if she could just have steak more regularly....Anyway, for Frau I am thankful. Hope this post finds you all happy and thankful. Blessing to you all, until next time, TTFN!

  2. Great job on the poncho!! I love it! Your Frau is adorable. I hope she sticks around for a long time--I know how much my guy brings to my life, and it sounds like Frau is the same for you.
