Wow! It all started with peaches....

Hey there! Oh my gosh it has been a while! So it all started with the simple intention of putting up peach preserves. While the peaches were cooking down, I started to look at the now empty room my son Demitri called his own for the last five years. To say sadness over came me would be an understatement. My two dachshunds were looking at me like I really need a trip to the treat jar:) Once I finally stopped crying about my "little" boy being old enough to move out, I decided I couldn't stand to leave the room empty. Time for a change.
Off to the sewing and fabric store for inspiration! After a couple of trips to see what sewing cabinets were made like and what their costs were, I had a plan. I enlisted my sweetheart to help me build a sewing cabinet. Demitri even came home to help with the remodel! It isn't quite finished yet but I'm pretty close. I am excited to no longer have to use the dining room table to quilt on and to finally have all of my sewing/stitching stuff in one place. It still makes me sad to know he no longer lives at home, but I know this is what is supposed to happen. In the meantime, he is loving his apartment and really enjoying college. Sniff!

I think the room will be finished by the end of this weekend so I will get back to Santa and the quilt next week. Well, I think that catches my blog up on the past three weeks so until next time, TTFN!

You made me laugh about needing a trip to the treat jar, lol! Poor thing...I can relate!

  2. Wonderful stuff! You're so lucky to have a stitching room -- and a guy who can make your sewing cabinet for you!
