Play Day!

Hey there! Well, just like I promised here is a picture of "At Home In The Woods", by McKenna Ryan. When I saw it completed a few years ago, I thought it was just stunning! It is made up of many different batik fabrics. I have managed to keep my eyes open for beautiful and interesting batiks where ever I go. I have block four cut out and ready to go. I will say that the cutting out the one million aspen leaves for block four took a fair bit of time:)
My hubby and I took most of the day today to play with the horses. My horse is a leopard Appaloosa named Shadow. Shadow and I have been best friends for about five years now. He is around 22 years old as best as the vet can tell. After our warm up, we took off on a trail ride for about two hours. He is the best horse I have ever owned. Normally I don't have to warm him up but today I wanted to stretch him out first. We haven't been out for far too long so I thought it would be a good idea for both of us. It was an amazing day for riding. The weather was warm and there was a nice cool breeze blowing. We had a great time! When we got home there were carrots waiting:) My four legged boys love their veggies!

Here is my sweetheart working his buddy Levi. This picture doesn't show it very well, but trust me, Levi is a big boy! He is our youngest horse, he's ten. I have had him for about seven years. He is such a smart horse. When he thinks he should be out to pasture and we haven't acquiesced to his demands, he will go around to all of the gates and open them with his lips! We have tried every kind of latch made and yet he still manages to open them up and let he and his brothers out! He is quite the character! Well, I am going to take my sunburned self upstairs for a glass of tea and get ready to put block four together tomorrow. Until next time, TTFN!

  1. Wow, your McKenna Ryan piece is amazing! Are you hand appliqueing it? And your horses! I had no idea you owned horses! So cool!

  2. Like Margaret said, your McKenna Ryan piece is gorgeous!! Love the horse pics, too. My daughter's dream is to own a horse that she shall name Bubba. Don't worry, I've already told her that I plan to name her children. ;)
