A couple of new friends

Hey there! Our small ranch has added a few new friends of the equine persuasion! We have adopted two more horses. Both happen to be a color called grulla but that is where the similarities end:) One is a gelding and the other a mare. The gelding, called Cinch, is about 16.2 hands, so for those of you who aren't sure what that means, he is VERY tall. The mare, Eve, is much smaller, about 14.2 hands. Neither of these horses has any idea they are horses. They are so sweet and so very glad to be here. The other two horses we have seem to like their new friends, so all and all, things are going good. The picture below is Gabyy and Eve. She has a brand on her hip of a cross with a roof over it. Kind of interesting.

I have had a little bit of time to stitch but I will wait to put up a new picture until I have a little more to show for it. I am really looking forward to the long weekend ahead. I have a small autumn wall quilt that I picked up at the last quilt show so that is going to be my weekend project. I am also looking forward to just being home. Work has just been crazy busy and I swear we have tried to hire two more employees who turned out to be just awful! Why people interview and say they want to work and then no call and no show is just beyond me. So without the extra help, I have been crazy busy at the office.
The kids have returned to school in the last two weeks. Demitri is a sophomore in college this year  and Dominic is a junior in high school. I think both were sad to see school start back but glad to see friends.
Well, that's going to cover this post. The photo at the top is Gabrielle and Cinch at sunset. It's hard to tell who has the bigger smile. Until next time, TTFN!

  1. Sounds like things are very busy! My daughter dreams of the day when she will have a small farm on which she can have horses. I'll have to show her your blog post. :) Enjoy your new horses!
