A Crocheting We Will Go

Hey there everyone! Well the sewing room is all pulled together so what have I been up to the last three weeks? Crocheting! I went down to the barn to bring up some boxes of stuff that had been put away since we moved 5 years ago and came across yarn I had bought to crochet a baby blanket. So, I decided to go ahead and finish it even though the baby it was intended for is now oh I think 6! Whoops! I think it turned out really great!

After finishing it, I also came across a bunch of small Granny Squares that my Grandma had made but never done anything with. She passed away in September 1993. Yes, I admit it. I am a pack rat of sorts. But I knew sooner or later I would figure out something to do with them. They were only 3" squares and of all sorts of random colors. Jumping forward with this story just a bit, lately, it has started getting very chilly here at night. My little dachshund girls actually gave me the perfect idea for those squares, a doggie blanket! Gran, as I called her, would have absolutely approved! She loved her little dog Bear and there were just enough of those squares to make a perfect dachshund sized blanket. I can't believe how cute it turned out! I know Gran is smiling thinking "It took long enough".

So I am sitting here, on this wet cold Sunday night trying to figure out what to do next. When the weather gets cold I really have that nesting urge. So I think I am going to pick Santa up and get him finished up. I seem to have been on a roll for finishing things. Why stop now! Then I am thinking I will get going on the quilt again.
