Progress

Hey there! It has finally stopped raining here in Colorado. The last four days straight have been nothing but rain. It has really made me feel like I'm somewhere else. I've never been to Seattle but from what I'm told, that place certainly comes to mind or perhaps Noah's Ark! It looks like the storm system has finally clear out now and we are supposed to be back in the 80's tomorrow. Woo hoo! I have actually worn flannel to bed the last few nights, it has been that cold!
So I have made a little bit of progress on my sampler, not a lot mind you, but some. I have to comment though on the thread I am using. I have used Crescent Colours a few times before and been happy with it but NOT this time. I have had more frogging and shredding and breaking than I have ever experienced before. It has not just been one color. Several different colors actually. I have thought about taking out what I have done and re charting the threads. I am at a total loss to explain what is going on. Anyone out there had the same issues? Needless to say, it is not so fun having to tie off and restart. I do love the way they look once stitched in but geez! Maybe they used a different base thread or something.                                                      I am please to report that I successfully passed my first examination. I had to take the first test on Friday. I was a nervous wreck! Not a pretty sight! But I managed to pass with a high "B". I'm not too disappointed for my first effort. I think now I will try to calm down for the next one which is on this Wednesday. It's funny, I don't remember tests being so stressful, (maybe I just don't remember kinda like labor!):) Well, I'm going to cut this short tonight but I hope everyone out there is having a better time stitching than I have been. Until next time, TTFN!

  1. I love your progress so far! Very pretty -- this has always been a piece I love. I haven't used Crescent Colors very much, only the Belle Soie a bit. With those I've had a color bleed onto my fabric before, but nothing else. Hope the threads get better to work with. Congrats on your first exam! A high B is great!

  2. You've made great progress so far. I haven't used CC threads much, but why don't you try running the thread through a waxer or thread heaven - maybe that would help. Congratulations on your first exam!!
